Article Submission

All submitted pieces are put through a rigorous editing process in which pieces are improved with an eye for style, grammar, factual information, and content. The Spokesman reserves the right to edit any submission for length, content, and clarity. Writers submitting pieces to the Spokesman should expect their submissions to be changed at the editors’ discretion. Although the editorial staff will make every effort to publish submitted work, writers should not expect that their submissions will be published within any specific time frame or at all, at the discretion of the Editors-in-Chief. While writer-editor dialogue is encouraged, editors have the final word regarding what is published, and are not required to consult with writers before making changes to submitted work that is ultimately published. All articles submitted to the Spokesman automatically become the property of the Spokesman, and may be printed or published by the Spokesman without any further communications with the person who submitted the article. As a courtesy, any submission published by the Spokesman may be reprinted or republished, as originally published by the Spokesman, by the author identified in the by-line.
